Just in from seeing Eastern Promises. No spoilers here. Suffice to say the film was vintage Cronenberg -- low angle shots, blood, slow zooms, more blood.

But Viggo...

Ooooh, Viggo.

He was amazing. Every aspect of his performance was incredibly controlled, every muscle twitch perfectly placed, each menacing gesture creepily understated. I haven't seen him better. Forget all the hoopla about the nudity in the bath house scene. It is of less focus than the desperate grittiness of the action taking place. I am so pleased for him and for what this movie will mean to his career.
